More than 60,000 Latino families expected to attend
Es El Momento: Feria de Educación on Oct. 13
LOS ANGELES, CA (Oct. 9, 2012) – Es El Momento: Feria de Educación, presented by KMEX-TV Univision, is the nation’s largest education event promoting academic achievement and parental advocacy for Latino families. The 4th Annual Es El Momento: Feria de Educación is taking place on Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on CSU Dominguez Hills campus, located at 1000 East Victoria St, Carson.
Designed to create an educational pathway that motivates and guides Latino parents and students, the event expects to welcome approximately 60,000 visitors throughout Southern California and is supported by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and the California State University (CSU).
“The Es El Momento: Feria de Educación event has kept growing in size through the years due to the overwhelming demand by Latino parents and students for information to support and enhance their ongoing education,” stated LAUSD Board President, Monica Garcia. “Parents demonstrate their commitment to education by showing up, it is our responsibility to provide them the information they need and support their dreams of a better future for their children through education.”
Es El Momento: Feria de Educación was created to bring together locally available organizations and resources to support Latino parents of young children to create a loving and nurturing environment where their children can thrive. The event promotes a college-bound attitude and provides information and resources to promote learning from pre-K to career selection, focusing on high school graduation and college readiness. The event creates a learning environment that provides the growing population of Latino families with small children the information, tools, and resources that are needed to learn.
